This one-day course is ideal for anyone working or volunteering in the outdoor, leisure, or tourism industries. This Interactive and practical training will help you think differently about disability and give you the confidence and knowledge you need for your role.
Whether you are new to inclusive practice or looking to build on your existing knowledge, this interactive training will give you the confidence and practical tools to welcome disabled visitors and create more accessible experiences.
Through a mix of discussion, participation, and experiential learning, you will explore how to break down barriers and make your activities more inclusive.
Who is it suitable for?
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge of disability, accessibility and inclusion. No prior qualifications or experience are required.
You will leave feeling confident in:
- Understanding disability awareness and inclusion in the outdoors
- Communicating effectively and using inclusive language
- Identifying and overcoming barriers to participation
- Designing accessible and inclusive activities and experiences
- Making small changes that will make a big difference for disabled people

Location: Bendrigg Trust, just outside Kendal on the edge of the Lake District
Cost: £125 per person / £95 charity and educational rate
