Climbing for All Training

Climbing for All - Professional Development for Inclusive Climbing Instruction

Climbing for All is a CPD-accredited course designed for climbers who work with disabled people. This practical, hands-on training combines technical skills with inclusive practice, delivered in a supportive and engaging environment.

You will spend time on our fully accessible climbing wall, learning adaptive techniques and gaining the confidence to make climbing more inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

 Who is it for?
This course is suitable for anyone with, or working towards, a climbing qualification or with equivalent experience.

 What is included:

  • A full day of training at Bendrigg encompassing both theory and practice
  • Pre-course information to accelerate your learning and maximise the time spent climbing on the day
  • A follow-up Zoom session to reflect and ask questions
  • Printed materials and resources to take away
  • Ongoing email support from our experienced instructors

 You will leave feeling confident in:

  • Disability awareness and inclusion in the outdoors
  • Inclusive communication and terminology
  • Overcoming barriers to participation
  • Coaching techniques and tips for working with disabled climbers
  • Adaptive climbing techniques including harnesses and side support climbing
  • Designing accessible climbing sessions

Time: 9:30am to 4:30pm

Cost: £95 (subsidised rate for those working or volunteering in the outdoor sector). Includes lunch, refreshments and plenty of Bendrigg’s famous traybake cake!

Spaces available: 12 (minimum of 8 required to run the course)
